Using the new Schedule Search Screens

Note: You do not need to log in merely to search classes. You will need to log in to register.

The absolute minimum needed to use the new Schedule screen properly is the term and the location of courses. The term tells the program which term to search, and the location of Montgomery is 'M01 - Montgomery'.

When you have selected a term, you will get a screen that looks as follows:

To help, we have the following guide:

Course Name and Title has four pieces of information that the student needs:

  1. Subject.
  2. Course Number.
  3. Three letter course designation code ---
    1. First letter: Term designation. "A", "B", or "C". NOTE: If the entire designation is "LCS", this is a learning contract designation. If you are interested in taking a learning contract course, please contact Distance Learning at (334) 241-5429, 1-888-357-8843, or m01grec@troy.edu
    2. Second letter: Course section.
    3. Third letter: Type of course ---
      "R" = Resident (in class)
      "T" = Television
      "L" = Live into Cable
      "I" = Internet
  4. Course Title.

The above highlighted course reads Accounting (ACT) 2291, is a "B" term course (second eight-weeks of the fall), and is a Resident class.

Meeting Information has five pieces of information the student needs.

  1. Building where the class meets. The codes are:
    • MWHI -- WHITLEY HALL, 231 Montgomery Street
    • MBAR -- BARTLETT HALL, 126 Church Street
    • MMAX -- MAXWELL AFB
    • MGUN -- GUNTER ANNEX
    • MRPL -- ROSA PARKS LIBRARY AND MUSEUM, 252 Montgomery Street
  2. The room number. In the example above, this reads room 217 of BARTLETT HALL.
  3. Delivery method. In this case, LEC means "classroom lecture". LAB means "lab".
  4. Days met. In this case, TTH means Tuesday and Thursday.
  5. Times met, from beginning to end of class. In this case, the class meets from 5:30 to 7:50 PM.
