Troy University's Rosa Parks Museum will mark Rosa Parks' birthday by offering free tours of both the main museum and the children's wing from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 3. In addition, from 8a.m. to 12 p.m. visitors will also have the opportunity to participate in a special art activity commemorating the birthday of Rosa Parks.

On Saturday February 4, 2012 the Troy University Rosa Parks Museum will honor the birthday of Rosa Parks by hosting a gallery talk by Charleston, SC batik artist Arianne King Comer. The gallery talk will take place at 11 a.m. in the museum auditorium and it will focus on King Comer's current exhibit at the Rosa Parks Museum titled "My Spirit Speaks." Then at 2:00 p.m., following the gallery talk, Arianne King Comer will give a demonstration on the art of indigo dying and batik at the Cleveland Avenue YMCA. Both events are free to the public.
