The Overseas Spouse Education Assistance Program (SEAP) is a need-based education assistance program designed to provide Army spouses, residing with active duty Soldiers in Europe, Korea, Japan and Okinawa Commands only, with financial assistance in pursuing educational goals. To be eligible for SEAP, applicants must be a spouse of Army Soldier on active duty assigned to Europe, Korea, Japan or Okinawa. The spouse must reside with the soldier in the Europe, Korea, Japan or Okinawa location. “Active Duty” military personnel are not eligible. The Stateside Spouse Education Assistance Program (SEAP) is a need-based education assistance program designed to provide spouses of active duty Army Soldiers and widows(ers) of Army Soldiers that died while on active duty, and are residing in the United States, with financial assistance in pursuing educational goals. The purpose of the program is to assist spouses/widows(ers) in gaining the education required to allow them to qualify for increased occupational opportunities. Employee Incentive Scholarship Program allows VHA employees to further their education and obtain degrees qualifying them for health care positions for which recruitment and retention is difficult. National Nursing Education Initiative (NNEI) is primarily aimed at supporting associate degree and diploma registered nurses obtain their Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) degrees. The VA qualification standard for nursing requires a BSN degree to advance beyond Nurse level I. This program can also be used to obtain advanced degrees. Applicant must be a senior in a public, parochial or independent school or attending an accredited college/university with a student classification of less than senior class status. Scholarship awards range from a minimum of $200.00 to a maximum of $3,000.00 subject to renewal each year based on their academic record and financial need.
