STEP 2. Follow these
instructions to log on to Blackboard.
What is Blackboard?
Blackboard is an interactive online
learning tool which allows you to receive course content, take
tests and quizzes, participate in online dialog with your fellow
students, and more. As with any other computer program, there
are a few things you must know prior to using the program to
enhance your learning experience. Please take a few moments to
read the following instructions before trying to login to the
course.
Internet Access (Browser)
Recommendations
Blackboard does not support the
America Online web browser. If you are using AOL as your
Internet service provider, you will need to download and install
Microsoft Internet Explorer or Netscape. You should use IE to
access the Blackboard course site after connecting to the
Internet via AOL. Once you are connected to the Internet,
minimize the AOL browser screen and then click on the Internet
Explorer icon to open Internet Explorer as your browser. To
download Internet Explorer go to
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads and then select the
latest version of IE and specify which operating system you are
using, for example: Windows 98. To download Netscape, go to:
http://home.netscape.com/download.
The universal URL to all
Blackboard course listings is:
After clicking on
this web address you will be taken to the Blackboard (Bb) page
where you can either login to Bb directly or view the course
catalog (see login instructions below). You are encouraged
to set this address as a favorite in your Internet browser for
quick access later.
