Let me take this opportunity to thank you for visiting our website and for your interest in the College of Arts and Sciences here at Troy University, Montgomery Campus. On behalf of the faculty and staff working in this college, I bid you welcome. In Arts and Sciences on the Montgomery Campus, we offer an Associate of General Education Degree with concentrations in Computer Science, History, Political Science, or Social Science and Baccalaureate Degrees in Computer Science, English, History, Mathematics, Political Science, and Social Science. Minors are available in Computer Science, English, Geography, History, Mathematics, Political Science, Social Science, and Sociology. At the graduate level, we currently offer a Masters Degree in Computer Science and graduate courses in conjunction with the College of Counseling, Education and Psychology. Many of our undergraduates continue on to work on their MA in Teaching with emphasis in English, History, Mathematics, or Political Science. Any academic program on any university campus is only as good as its faculty, and at Troy University, Montgomery Campus, we have one of the most productive faculties in the State of Alabama. With a wonderful blend of full-time academic faculty, combined with the very best adjunct professors (drawn from professional fields, government, higher education, and industry) the capital of our state has to offer, the College of Arts and Sciences offers students the opportunity to work with a wide variety of classroom leaders and practitioners in their fields. All the Arts and Sciences faculty, with advanced degrees from many of the most prestigious academic institutions in the country, are teacher/scholars. These are people who continue to write and edit books and collections, who publish articles in the most important national and international journals in their respective fields, and who present research at the most important national and international conferences each year. However, this is also a faculty that prides themselves on their role as mentors to the next generations of lawyers, managers, professors, and other professionals; which pride themselves on their success in reaching a mostly adult student body; and which prides themselves on providing a quality education through all available delivery systems. In the College of Arts and Sciences at Troy University, Montgomery Campus, we have great teachers who happen to be great scholars, teaching “traditionally” in small classes and labs and “non-traditionally” through the Internet and television. So, if you are interested in either an undergraduate major or a minor in the Arts and Sciences or our graduate opportunities, then I encourage you to look at the Arts and Sciences offerings at Troy University, Montgomery Campus. We will attempt to do what is best for our students and meet our responsibilities to the public as a quality institution of higher education. Come join us! Yours sincerely,
Dr. Fred Beatty, Ph.D. |
