DROPS AND WITHDRAWALS - If a student completes, signs and turns in a registration form,
the student is considered registered for the term, whether or not he or she attends classes or
pays tuition and fees. An official DROP or WITHDRAWAL FORM MUST
BE COMPLETED AT ONE OF THE APPROPRIATE ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICES.
Telling your instructor or telephoning a university official does
not constitute an official drop or withdrawal. A "DROP
FORM" is used when a student wishes to drop one or more,
but not all courses. A course correction may be made on the same
day that a student registers without paying a fee. This does not
apply to withdrawals or to telephone, fax, Internet or mail
registrations.
A "WITHDRAWAL FORM" is used when the student
discontinues attending ALL classes.
Drop or Withdrawals (Financial Responsibilities)
Last day a student may drop or withdraw without owing full
tuition & fees is listed on the student
calendar and the semester schedule - all tuition and fees must
be paid after this date. Financial Aid Students must
complete 60% of the term to receive their full financial aid. If a
Financial Aid recipient withdrawals before completing 60% of the
term, federal regulations require Troy University, Montgomery Campus to return a prorated amount
to the Department of Education. The student will be responsible
for paying the amount returned.
GRADE STATUS AT TIME OF DROP OR WITHDRAWAL
Students who drop or withdraw from a course(s) BEFORE mid-term
will not be charged academically for hours attempted. Students who
drop or withdraw from a course(s) AFTER mid-term will be charged
academically with hours attempted in the computation of the
overall grade point average. (See student
calendar for dates). If there are documented circumstances
beyond a student's control, these documents must be presented to
the Dean of Student Affairs for review and approval for an
exception to the above policy. After mid-quarter, please contact
the Student Affairs office for specific information (334)
